Happy New Year 2016

I pray all of you are having a great day today. I have decided to stay in bed and read the Bible and pray on what God would like for me to be this year. My last year was a nightmare of being in and out of hospitals trying to get my medications normalized. It didn’t help so I have decided to start all over this year with a new dr. She specializes in the aged.

I would like to talk to you today about Justification. This subject is what separates Christianity from other religions. We know from this doctrine that we cannot work our way to be justified in the eyes of God. Justification is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by works.

Romans 5 – Benefits of Being Justified through Faith
“In the whole Bible there is hardly another chapter which can equal this triumphant text.” (Martin Luther)
A. The benefits of believing.
1. (1-2) Peace and a standing of grace.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 (ESV)
18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Galatians 3:24 (ESV)
24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV)
23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Abraham’s justification came when there were no Law and circumcision in effect.The law came 430 years after Abraham’s justification, GAL 3:17. The divine decrees point to the mercy of God, the fall of Adam and the fact that God did something about sin. God decreed that we would all be under the sweeping sentence of condemnation through no fault of our own because he had a plan to bring us under the sentence of justification through no merit of our own…under the obedience of one man, Jesus Christ.

We would now have to learn to rely on the justice and grace of God for deliverance from our sinful state, and God Himself provided that justice and grace so man could be set free forever. 1PE 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

In grace, the requirement for receiving this justification, man was asked simply to believe in the Christ as his Savior.

With this faith the sin problem was solved by the Son.
Because of condemnation at birth, man’s personal sins were never actually the real issue since it was not personal sins that made man a sinner. The only sin that will send you to hell is rejecting Jesus as your Savior. When we are saved the Holy Spirit will clean up our life. It will be done daily not instantly and it will not be complete until we die. If you sin confess your sin to be in fellowship with God. If you daily live a life of sin without conviction from the Holy Spirit you may nee to work on your salvation. Don’t neglect to read your Bible and pray daily. May God bless you and your loved ones this new year where we have the opportunity to start over. In Christian love, dtbrents
